Troops Arrest Two Suspected Boko Haram Drug and Logistics Suppliers in Borno
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested two teenage suppliers linked to Boko Haram and ISWAP in Borno.
They were caught transporting drugs and materials to insurgents during intensified border patrols.
Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have intensified their counter-terrorism campaign in Borno State with the arrest of two young men accused of supplying logistics materials and drugs to Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) insurgents.

According to a military statement, the arrests were made during a series of stop-and-search and clearance operations along the Gamboru–Wulgo road in Ngala Local Government Area, under the ongoing Operation Desert Sanity IV. The operation, aimed at disrupting the remaining supply routes of terrorist factions, has been focusing on tightening surveillance around communities close to the Cameroon border where terrorist cells are known to operate.
The troops, working in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local hunters, intercepted the first suspect, Abba Wakil, 18, on October 2. He was found with two jerricans of condemned engine oil and one hundred pieces of quick-patch material commonly used for vehicle and motorcycle repair. Investigations revealed that Wakil, a native of Wulgo village, was allegedly transporting the items to insurgents active in the nearby forest axis.
Shortly after that arrest, another suspect, identified as Bunu Ali, also 18, was apprehended along the same route while attempting to deliver 110 wraps of Cannabis Sativa to members of the terrorist group. Security operatives believe the drugs were meant to sustain fighters stationed in remote camps.
Both suspects are presently in military custody for further interrogation. Preliminary findings, according to military sources, suggest they may be part of a wider network responsible for moving supplies between border communities and terrorist hideouts.
The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining pressure on insurgents through intelligence-driven operations, stressing that cooperation with local vigilantes and communities has been key to recent successes. Authorities assured residents of continued efforts to secure the North-East and dismantle the financial and logistics chains sustaining terrorist activities.
