Troops Repel Boko Haram Attack in Borno, K!ll Two Insurgents

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have repelled a midnight Boko Haram and ISWAP attack on their Borno base.

The soldiers k!lled two terrorists, forcing others to flee after a fierce gun battle.

Troops of the Joint Task Force, North-East Operation Hadin Kai, have foiled a Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) assault on their base in Borno State, k!lling two militants in the process.

The attempted attack took place around 12:20 a.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2025, when a large group of terrorists tried to penetrate the 3 Battalion (Main) Pump House position.

Military sources said the soldiers responded swiftly with mortar and small-arms fire, forcing the insurgents to retreat after sustaining heavy losses.

“Several of the attackers were k!lled, while others fled with gunshot wounds, as shown by heavy blood traces along their escape route,” one source confirmed.

After the gunfire subsided, an ambush team from the battalion conducted a brief sweep of the area and recovered the bodies of two dead insurgents. No casualties were recorded among the troops.

The overall security situation in the area was reported to be stable but tense, with soldiers maintaining high alert. Their morale and combat readiness were described as commendable.
