FCT Police Command Debunks Reports on Alleged D3ath of Two Wedding Guests in Abuja
The FCT Police Command has denied reports claiming two wedding guests were k!lled in Bwari, Abuja.
Spokesperson Josephine Adeh clarified the incident occurred in Niger State, not within the FCT.
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has refuted reports circulating online that two wedding guests were murdered by criminals in Bwari Area Council on Friday, October 3.

The reports had alleged that the victims were attacked and killed while returning from a wedding held in Gwagwalada, Abuja.
Reacting to the claims in a statement issued on Monday, October 6, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, clarified that preliminary investigations showed the alleged incident did not occur within the territory.
According to Adeh, the places mentioned in the reports Garam, Rafin-Azum, and Tafa Local Government Area are located in Niger State, not within the boundaries of the FCT. She further explained that the Suleja Police Area Command, which was also cited in the story, operates under the Niger State Police Command.
She described the reports as inaccurate and misleading, urging media outlets to verify information before publication to avoid causing unnecessary panic among residents of Abuja.
Adeh added that while the command sympathizes with those affected by the incident, it remains important to maintain clear geographical distinctions between border communities and the FCT.
The police spokesperson also noted that the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao S. Adewale, has urged residents to stay alert and report any suspicious movements or persons through the command’s emergency hotlines 08032003913 and 08061581938.
