INEC Chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu has handed over to May Agbamuche as Acting National Chairman.
The transition follows his temporary exit, with Agbamuche now overseeing the commission’s operations.
The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, has handed over the affairs of the commission to May Agbamuche, who now serves as Acting Chairman.

Agbamuche, the longest-serving National Commissioner in the commission, takes charge following Yakubu’s temporary exit from office. The handover took place on Tuesday during a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners at the INEC headquarters in Abuja.
During the session, Yakubu urged the commissioners and directors to give their full cooperation and support to Agbamuche as she leads the commission pending the appointment of a substantive chairman.
