According to reports, her body was discovered on October 6 on a mountainside in Muju County, North Jeolla Province, three days after she was believed to have died shortly after a livestream on October 3.

Investigations revealed that she had been approached by a man identified as Choi, the CEO of an IT company, who claimed he could help grow her social media following. Choi reportedly posed as a wealthy online personality known as “Black Cat,” but was secretly struggling with heavy debts and had his home seized through a forced auction.

Police sources said Choi had been stalking Yoon Ji-ah and showed signs of controlling behavior before the tragic incident. He was arrested hours after her body was found and has since confessed to the crime.

Before her death, Yoon Ji-ah had more than 300,000 followers on TikTok, where she was known for sharing lifestyle content.
