Singer Teni has stopped giving fans money on Fridays, saying they often spend it on pepper soup.
She joked that her giveaways ended after learning one recipient used hers for catfish pepper soup.
Popular Nigerian singer Teniola Apata, widely known as Teni, has revealed the funny reason she stopped giving fans money on Fridays.
In a viral video shared on social media, the singer said she decided to end her Friday giveaways because people often use the money to buy pepper soup instead of doing something meaningful with it.
Speaking in Pidgin English, Teni said:
“Me I no dey give anybody money on Friday. No no no, if you give person money on Friday, them go use your money go chop pepper soup ooh.”
The “Billionaire” crooner went on to share a recent experience, narrating how she once gave someone money, only to find out later that the person used it to buy a big plate of catfish pepper soup.
