Tope Alabi Reflects on Past Heartbreaks, Says Four Men “Stylishly Left” Before Marriage
Gospel singer Tope Alabi has shared how several suitors mysteriously backed out before marriage.
She said faith kept her through heartbreaks until she finally met her husband against all odds.
Nigerian gospel singer Tope Alabi has opened up about her difficult experiences with failed relationships before eventually settling down with her husband.
The “Oore Ti O Common” crooner shared the story in an Instagram video, recalling a puzzling pattern in her early adult years where potential suitors would suddenly back out just when it seemed the relationship was moving toward marriage.
“When I became an adult and got to the stage of introducing men to my parents, something strange would always happen,” she said. “The men would say they needed to pray about it, and afterward, they would disappear.”
The 54-year-old singer revealed that in some cases, intermediaries told her that her suitors had consulted prophets who discouraged them from marrying her. “I can count at least four men that stylishly left me,” she added.
Alabi noted that despite the repeated heartbreaks, she continued to trust in God’s plan for her life. Eventually, she met her husband through her boss at work, but even that relationship faced obstacles when her father gave her hand in marriage to another suitor before her partner could complete the formal introduction.
Reflecting on her journey, Alabi said her past only deepened her gratitude to God for how things eventually turned out.
