Governor Lawal Orders Reinstatement of 103 Suspended Teachers in Zamfara
Governor Dauda Lawal has reinstated 103 Zamfara teachers earlier removed from the state payroll.
The education commissioner said they were cleared after a review found their suspension was an error.
Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has approved the reinstatement of 103 teachers who were earlier removed from the state payroll.

The announcement was made in Gusau by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mallam Wadatau Madawaki. He explained that the affected teachers were among 780 civil servants suspended in January after a verification exercise.
According to Madawaki, the reinstated teachers were cleared after a new screening confirmed that their removal was caused by administrative errors. He added that the governor also approved the payment of their outstanding salaries from January to July 2025.
Madawaki said the verification exercise was aimed at cleaning up the state workforce and ensuring transparency in salary payments. He urged the teachers to be more committed to their duties and to contribute meaningfully to improving education in the state.
He reminded them that the government was determined to maintain discipline and accountability in the education sector. Earlier in the year, about 780 workers were suspended for alleged underage employment, absenteeism, and receiving multiple salaries.
