The Imo State Police Command has arrested three officers seen in a viral video performing cult gestures.
Officials said the men will face disciplinary action for misconduct and unprofessional behavior.
The Imo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of three officers accused of engaging in cult-related activities after a viral video showed them making gestures linked to a secret group.

The video, which circulated on social media days ago, drew public outrage and prompted the command to launch an internal investigation to identify those involved.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the command’s spokesperson, SP Henry Okoye, said the officers have been identified as Inspector Obinna Peter, Corporal Amaechi Augustine, and Corporal Ejikeme Victor.
He explained that the men were arrested and placed in detention following the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, who ordered a detailed probe into their conduct. Okoye added that an Orderly Room Trial will begin on Monday to determine appropriate disciplinary action.
The police spokesperson described the officers’ actions in the viral clip as unprofessional and contrary to the ethics and core values of the Nigeria Police Force.
He assured that the outcome of the disciplinary hearing will be made public, emphasizing the command’s commitment to maintaining professionalism, accountability, and transparency in all its operations.
