The suspect, identified as Owoloja Femi from Ejiba, was apprehended around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Odo-Eri along Saminaka Road during a routine patrol by security operatives.

According to security sources, Femi was allegedly conveying illicit substances meant for bandits when he was intercepted. His accomplices reportedly escaped on a motorcycle after offloading two cartons of the suspected drugs, leaving him behind as he attempted to flee.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Femi, who serves as the Chairman of the Okada Riders Association, Ejiba Branch, confessed to sourcing the drugs from a chemist in Egbe for delivery to his associates believed to be hiding in nearby forests.

Operatives also recovered N600,000 from the suspect, which authorities suspect may have been proceeds or operational funds connected to the illegal drug distribution network.

Security officials said the arrest is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal logistics networks supplying narcotics and resources to bandits and other armed groups across Kogi State.
