The Nigerian Education Loan Fund has opened its online portal for 2025/2026 student loan applications.
Students can apply between October 23, 2025, and January 31, 2026, using valid admission details.
The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced that its online portal for student loan applications will be open for the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to a statement released on Tuesday, the application window will run from Thursday, October 23, 2025, to Saturday, January 31, 2026. The agency urged new students to apply using either their Admission Number or JAMB Registration Number if they do not yet have a Matriculation Number.
NELFUND also appealed to tertiary institutions to show flexibility with registration and payment deadlines for students waiting for loan approval and disbursement. It further advised schools that have not started their 2025/2026 academic session to submit their approved academic calendar to NELFUND to allow proper scheduling.
The Fund emphasized that institutions must upload verified details of both returning and newly admitted students on the Student Verification Portal, explaining that this step is crucial for applicants to complete the process and access financial support.
