Ejimakor was apprehended by police officers in Abuja on Monday after reportedly joining demonstrators demanding Kanu’s freedom from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS), where he has been held since his re-arrest in 2021. The protest, which drew the attention of security agencies, took place at several strategic locations in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

According to court documents, Ejimakor and 12 others were arraigned on multiple charges, including criminal conspiracy, disobedience of a lawful order, inciting public disturbance, and causing a breach of peace. The offences contravene sections 152, 114, and 113 of the Penal Code Law.

The defendants named in two separate First Information Reports (FIRs) are Aloy Ejimakor, Emmanuel Kanu (Nnamdi Kanu’s younger brother), Joshua Emmanuel, Wilson Anyalewechi, Okere Kingdom Nnamdi, Clinton Chimeneze, Gabriel Joshua, Isiaka Husseini, Onyekachi Ferdinand, Amadi Prince, Edison Ojisom, Godwill Obioma, and Chima Onuchukwu.

Police prosecutors alleged that the group was arrested at various locations within Abuja while engaging in activities that disrupted public peace and obstructed vehicular movement. They maintained that the actions of the accused persons posed a threat to public order and violated lawful instructions given by security authorities.

During the proceedings, the prosecution urged the court to remand the defendants pending further investigation, citing security concerns and the need to maintain public order. The magistrate granted the request, directing that Ejimakor and the others be kept in custody until the next hearing date.
