Ghana Police Arrest Five Nigerians for Traff!cking 57 Victims Under Fake Job and School Offers
Five Nigerian men have been arrested in Ghana for allegedly traff!cking 57 compatriots with fake job and school offers.
Police say the victims were forced into internet fraud activities after arrival.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has arrested five Nigerian nationals accused of traff!cking 57 fellow Nigerians into the country under false promises of employment and education.

The suspects identified as Joel Nosa, Collins Rotimi, Shadrack Lulu, Austin Amahuaro, and John Uloko were apprehended during an intelligence-led raid conducted by the CID Operations Unit at Adom Estates, Community 25, in Tema.
Investigations, according to the police, revealed that the men are part of a cross-border traff!cking syndicate that recruits young Nigerians with fake offers of jobs and schooling opportunities in Ghana. Once the victims, aged between 18 and 26, arrived in the country, they were allegedly forced to participate in online dating scams and other internet fraud activities.
Security operatives recovered seventy-seven laptops, thirty-eight mobile phones, two cars, three television sets, and several electronic devices believed to have been used in the illegal operations.
All 57 victims have been rescued and are currently receiving medical care, counseling, and other necessary assistance, the CID confirmed.

The five suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.
The Ghana Police also urged young people to be cautious about unsolicited job and scholarship offers on social media, stressing that many of such schemes are designed to exploit and traffic unsuspecting victims. It further assured the public of its ongoing efforts to combat human traff!cking, cybercrime, and other transnational offenses across the country.
