He made the pledge in Makurdi over the weekend during a meeting with the PDP G-14 and other influential party figures from Zones A and B, drawn from the 14 local government areas within those districts.

Ortom reiterated that he has no intention of leaving the PDP, describing rumors of his planned defection as fabrications pushed by individuals trying to stir confusion within the party. He expressed confidence that with unity and renewed effort, the PDP would bounce back stronger ahead of the next election cycle.

He encouraged party members to remain committed to rebuilding structures across the state, adding that although he does not intend to run for any office in 2027, he will actively support all PDP candidates.

The former governor also urged PDP aspirants to remain focused, hold broad consultations, and not be distracted by recent defections to the ruling party.

According to Ortom, he stands firmly with the PDP and believes a collective, determined approach will ensure that Benue returns to the party’s fold in 2027.
