A three year old girl reported missing in Minna has been found d3ad in a soakaway.
Authorities say investigations will determine what happened as the community mourns her loss.
Saudat Nasir, a missing 3 years old has been reported d3ad after she was found inside a soakaway pit in Minna, Niger State. She had been declared missing the day before.
According to reports Saudat was said missing by her mother after a visit with her mother to a friend’s house in the Soje B area of Minna. After hours of searching, her body was discovered in the soakaway on Sunday, October 26, 2025. She has since been buried at Kpakungu Burial Ground according to Islamic rites.
A Facebook user, Abdulazeez Akintola, shared how the little girl disappeared.
“Her mother, Hafsat, lives in Gbeganu area. Due to illness, she went to her family house in Soje B to recover. While visiting a friend who recently gave birth in the same area, Hafsat left little Saudat playing within the compound during prayer time. Sadly, by the time she finished praying, Saudat had disappeared to an unknown location.”
He said efforts were made to report the case and find the child.
“All efforts to trace her have been unsuccessful, despite reports made to the nearest police station and Prestige FM Minna,” he wrote. When the body was found, he gave the heartbreaking update: “INNALILLAHI WAINNA ILLAHI RAJU’UN… little Saudat Nasir… has been found in a soakaway lifeless… She has been laid to rest… Include her in your du’a… Jazakumullahu khairan.”
The cause of her d3ath has not yet been confirmed as investigations are expected to begin.
