Bellingham Faces Possible Punishment After Controversial Celebration in El Clasico
ude Bellingham’s celebration after Real Madrid’s win over Barcelona has drawn attention from officials.
His gesture could lead to disciplinary action as the incident is reviewed.
Jude Bellingham could face another disciplinary case following a gesture he made after Real Madrid’s 2-1 win over Barcelona on Sunday in El Clasico.

The England international was one of the standout performers in the match. He set up Kylian Mbappe for the opening goal and later scored the winner after Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez had briefly levelled the game. The victory sparked huge celebrations from the Real Madrid squad at full time.
During the celebrations, Bellingham pointed toward his crotch and stuck out his tongue while looking toward the crowd. The moment was caught on camera and has continued to generate reactions, with many suggesting he might be called to account for it.
This is not the first time the midfielder has been involved in a similar situation. He faced punishment during Euro 2024 after making the same gesture in England’s round of 16 win against Slovakia. UEFA fined him £25,400 and handed him a suspended one match ban for that incident. The ban remained only as a warning and expired earlier this year.
Following the Euro incident, Bellingham explained that the gesture was a joke shared with friends in the stands and said he meant no disrespect to the opponents.
There is now speculation about whether LaLiga or the Spanish Football Federation will review Sunday’s footage and decide if further action is required. UEFA does not have authority over domestic Spanish competitions, which means any possible penalty would come from local organizers.
For now, Real Madrid and Bellingham await any official word on the matter while enjoying an important win in one of football’s fiercest rivalries.
