Gunmen have kidnapped an Anglican priest, Venerable Achi, and his wife, Sarah, from their home in Kaduna.
The church has urged prayers for their safe release as rescue efforts continue.

The couple were reportedly taken from their residence in the early hours of Tuesday, October 28, 2025. Family members said the victims had only recently moved into a new home before the attack.
A relative, identified as Avril, confirmed the incident in a social media post, expressing shock over the abduction. “Just got news tonight that my uncle, who is also an Anglican Reverend, was kidnapped together with his wife in Kaduna. We were together at my dad’s 70th a few weeks ago. He just moved into that new property community informants for kidnappers is a thing in Kaduna,” he wrote.
The Diocese of Kaduna Anglican Communion has also confirmed the abduction, urging members of the church to join in prayers for the safe and speedy release of the priest and his wife.
Local security agencies have yet to issue an official statement on the incident, though reports suggest that efforts are underway to locate and rescue the couple.
The abduction adds to a series of kidnappings targeting clergy and residents in parts of northern Nigeria, where criminal gangs have increasingly carried out attacks for ransom. Residents of the community have called for tighter security and government action to end the persistent wave of violence.
