The self-acclaimed prophet faced backlash and a possible lawsuit from the company after his prophecy went viral online, causing panic among customers and sparking debates on social media.

In a new video shared online, Prophet Barnabas withdrew his earlier statement and pleaded for forgiveness, explaining that he never intended to harm any business. He maintained that he only spoke based on what he believed God revealed to him but now regrets how it was received.

He said, “As una know, I did prophecy concerning OPAY. I no get intention to spoil any person business. I’m sorry if that prophecy spoil any person business. I no just purpose to prophecy, na wetin God send me to do. I’m sorry, that prophecy is withdrawn in Jesus’ name.”

He ended his apology by saying, “Let love lead.”

However, many Nigerians criticized his statement, accusing him of spreading fear and making careless prophecies that could damage legitimate businesses. Others called for stricter measures against false prophets who exploit religion for attention.

Social media users also praised OPAY for threatening legal action, describing it as a necessary step to protect public trust.
