Ibrahim Chatta Reportedly Becomes Highest-Paid Nollywood Star, Bags ₦5m Per Day
Baba Oloto has revealed that Ibrahim Chatta is currently the highest-paid actor in Nollywood.
He said Chatta now earns up to ₦5 million per day for movie roles.
Veteran Nollywood actor Mustapha Bakare Otolo, popularly known as Baba Oloto, has revealed that Ibrahim Chatta is currently the highest-paid actor in the Nigerian film industry.

Speaking in a recent interview, Baba Oloto claimed that the award-winning actor now charges as much as ₦5 million per day for movie roles, setting a new record in Nollywood’s pay scale. He described Chatta as one of the most sought-after talents in the industry, whose exceptional acting skills and versatility have significantly increased his market value among producers and directors.
According to Baba Oloto, if Chatta participates in as many as 20 movies in a month, his earnings would far exceed those of many of his colleagues, particularly older actors who often earn much less.
He lamented the wide income gap between new-generation actors and veterans, explaining that while top stars like Chatta command millions per role, many older professionals still receive between ₦200,000 and ₦250,000 per scene.
Baba Oloto noted that this disparity has left several veteran performers struggling financially, despite their contributions to building Nollywood’s foundation. He called for better compensation structures and welfare initiatives to support older actors who helped shape the industry.
