Sowore Responds After Lagos Police Declare Him Wanted
Omoyele Sowore has reacted to reports that the Lagos Police declared him wanted.
He alleged the move followed officers’ failure to carry out a “shoot on sight” order from the police chief.
Human rights activist and politician, Omoyele Sowore, has responded to reports that the Lagos State Police Commissioner, Moshood Jimoh, declared him wanted for allegedly disturbing public peace.

Sowore claimed that the police action was linked to what he described as the commissioner’s failure to carry out an alleged “shoot on sight” directive from the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
In a post on his X handle, the activist said he had tried several times to reach the commissioner but received no response. He added that he planned to meet with the police chief soon to discuss the issue.
“The Lagos Police Commissioner, Moshood Jimoh, reportedly declared me wanted for disturbance of public peace due to his officers’ inability to execute a shoot on sight order,” he wrote, adding that he was ready to confront the matter directly with the authorities.
