Waje Reveals She Wasn’t Paid For Her Vocals On P-Square’s Hit Song “Do Me”

Singer Waje has revealed she never earned any money from P-Square’s 2007 hit ‘Do Me’.

She said despite lending her vocals to the song, she wasn’t credited or featured in the video.

Nigerian singer Waje has revealed that she never received any payment for being the female voice on P-Square’s 2007 hit song, Do Me.

Speaking on The Honest Bunch podcast, the 45-year-old vocalist said, “I didn’t earn a dime from P-Square’s Do Me.”

Waje, whose full name is Aituaje Iruobe, delivered the song’s unforgettable chorus but was neither officially credited nor featured. She recalled that for years, people doubted her claim of being behind the voice on the track.

“Imagine being in Onitsha market and telling people that’s my voice every time Do Me is played, and they look at you like, who are you? They didn’t believe me,” she said.

The singer explained that while the song brought her into the mainstream spotlight, she couldn’t appear in its music video because she didn’t have a passport then.
