“I’m Still Afraid Of Marriage,” Don Jazzy Opens Up About Love And Relationships
Don Jazzy has revealed that marriage still frightens him despite his fame and success.
The Mavin Records boss said his past experience and fear of commitment make him cautious about love.
Popular Nigerian music producer and Mavin Records founder, Michael Collins Ajereh, better known as Don Jazzy, has admitted that marriage still scares him despite his success and fame.

Speaking on HabbyFX’s YouTube channel, the 42-year-old said he struggles with fears about love, relationships, and commitment. Don Jazzy, who was briefly married in 2003 before getting divorced two years later, said he often finds it difficult to be vulnerable in relationships.
He explained, “There are good ones and there are bad ones. My parents were madly in love before my mom died. Seeing examples like that makes you believe in love and crave something similar. But when you also see bad examples like violent partners, cheating, or people exposing their issues online, it gives me fear.”
Don Jazzy revealed that financial concerns have also made him cautious about marriage. He said many men lose a large part of their wealth during divorce settlements, which makes him think twice about remarrying.
“A man has to lose half of all he’s worked for in his life, that’s for those without a prenup, like in America,” he explained. “All those things used to scare me. The money I’ve worked for is for my generation.”
He admitted he has dated since his divorce but is currently single, saying he’s waiting for “God’s time” and the right partner. “Na fear,” he said jokingly. “I just want the right person. But sometimes I ask myself, am I even the right person for somebody’s daughter?”
Reflecting on his growth, Don Jazzy said he has become wiser and more disciplined over the years, adding that he constantly prays to become a better man.
“When I was young, I was a menace,” he said with a smile. “But I’m getting older and wiser now.”
He also spoke about his work routine, saying he spends most of his time indoors at home, in the office, or in the studio, and relies on his team to manage operations.
Don Jazzy added that while he still believes strongly in God, he is now more cautious about organized religion. “I believe in God, by birth. But nowadays, I get skeptical about churches with how things are now. But I believe in God,” he said.
