Zulum Distributes 63 Patrol Vehicles to Boost Security in Borno

Governor Babagana Zulum has distributed 63 patrol vehicles to security agencies and CJTF members in Borno State.

He said the move will boost operations and strengthen peace efforts across the region.

Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has presented 63 patrol vehicles to security agencies and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) operating in Maiduguri and nearby communities.

According to a statement by the governor’s spokesman, Dauda Iliya, the gesture is aimed at strengthening security response and mobility in tackling crime and insurgency within the state capital and its surrounding areas.

Out of the total number, 30 vehicles were allocated to the 10 sectors of the CJTF, 16 to the Rapid Response Squad and Anti-Social Vices Unit, 10 to paramilitary organizations, six to hunters, and one to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

Governor Zulum, while handing over the vehicles, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting security agencies with logistics and equipment necessary to maintain peace and order.

“We are here in continuation of our efforts to support the security apparatus in Borno State with equipment and logistics needed for them to function effectively,” he said. “I want to assure you that my government will continue to back the security agencies to achieve lasting peace in the state.”

He also commended President Bola Tinubu, the service chiefs, and the military personnel of Operation Hadin Kai for their ongoing efforts to restore peace in Borno.

“I wish to express my deep appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the service chiefs, the theatre commander, and all officers and men of the armed forces for the great work they have been doing in the state,” the governor added.

The vehicle presentation ceremony was attended by Deputy Governor Dr. Umar Usman Kadafur, Secretary to the State Government Bukar Tijani, Commissioner of Police Naziru Abdulmajid, State Director of the DSS Adamu Umar, and NSCDC Commandant Abdulrazaq Haroon, among other top government officials.
