Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed that he intends to marry his long-time partner, Georgina Rodriguez, in 2026 after the World Cup.

The Portuguese football star, who got engaged to Georgina in August after nearly a decade together, revealed the plans during a new interview with British journalist Piers Morgan. Georgina, an Argentine-Spanish model, had earlier shared a photo of her engagement ring on Instagram with the caption, “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives,” expressing her love for the football icon.

When asked about their wedding plans, Ronaldo humorously said, “Not yet. We plan to do it after the World Cup with the trophy.” He further explained that Georgina prefers simple and intimate events rather than lavish celebrations. “She is not the person that likes big parties. She likes private things, so I will respect that,” Ronaldo added.

He went on to describe the emotional moment of the proposal, saying Georgina was less concerned about the size of the ring and more focused on his sincerity. “She asked if I was honest, and I said I wanted her and wanted to marry her. I didn’t cry, but I had tears in my eyes,” he shared.

Jewelry experts have valued Georgina’s engagement ring at around £1.5 million. Engagement ring specialist Laura Taylor described it as “extraordinary,” noting that the 15 to 20-carat diamond is likely set in platinum, a metal known for enhancing brilliance and security.

Taylor added, “This is a show-stopping ring, perfectly suited for one of football’s most famous couples. If the diamond is natural and of top quality, its value could easily exceed £1.5 million.”
