Yemi Alade has explained why she hasn’t collaborated with Tiwa Savage despite fans’ pressure for a joint song.
She said she avoids unnecessary drama, stressing there’s no conflict between them.
Nigerian Afropop star Yemi Alade has opened up on why she has yet to collaborate with fellow singer Tiwa Savage despite frequent calls from fans for a joint project.
Speaking on the Jude Chinwo Podcast, the “Johnny” crooner said while she has worked with other female artists such as Omawumi, Waje, and Seyi Shay, collaborating with Tiwa Savage is something she prefers to approach cautiously.
“The fan favorite is the one you mentioned,” Yemi said, referring to Tiwa. “I’d rather just stay clear; I don’t want problems in my life.”
She clarified that there is no personal issue between them, emphasizing that her decision is more about avoiding unnecessary drama fueled by outsiders.
“No problem at all. It’s just that most times fans and the media stir waters that are supposed to be calm. I’m not trying to make something out of nothing because there really isn’t any problem,” she explained.
