Senate Halts Ministerial Confirmation of Kingsley Udeh Over Pending Security Clearance
The Senate has suspended the confirmation of minister-nominee Dr. Kingsley Udeh over a pending security clearance.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio said the process will resume once the report is received.
Newskobo.com earlier reported that President Bola Tinubu had nominated Enugu State Attorney-General, Dr. Kingsley Ude, as a ministerial replacement for Uche Nnaji.
The Nigerian Senate has suspended the confirmation of Dr. Kingsley Udeh as a Minister of the Federal Republic, citing the absence of a mandatory security clearance.

The announcement was made on Wednesday by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during plenary. He stated that Udeh’s confirmation would not proceed until the upper chamber receives the necessary security report from relevant authorities.
“The confirmation of the minister-nominee would have been next on the list, but we need security clearance,” Akpabio told lawmakers.
President Bola Tinubu had earlier written to the Senate on Tuesday, seeking Udeh’s confirmation as a minister. The letter, read by Akpabio during plenary, noted that Udeh’s nomination was in fulfillment of constitutional requirements following the resignation of a former cabinet member from Enugu State.
The Senate is expected to revisit the confirmation once the required clearance is provided by the appropriate security agencies.
