6ix9ine Cautions Upcoming Artists Against Risky Record Label Deals

Rapper 6ix9ine has warned upcoming artists to think carefully before signing record deals.

He said many labels exploit musicians, urging them to learn about contracts and protect their rights.

Controversial rapper 6ix9ine has advised emerging artists to be cautious when signing deals with major record labels, warning that many contracts are designed to benefit labels rather than the artists themselves.

Speaking during a recent livestream with Adin Ross which attracted over 39,000 engagements on X, 6ix9ine stressed the importance of financial literacy and ownership in the music industry.

He pointed to NBA YoungBoy’s 2023 deal with Atlantic Records, in which the rapper reportedly sold his masters and publishing rights for tens of millions of dollars, describing it as an example of a short-term win that could lead to long-term losses.

“Labels make you feel like you’re winning, but in the long run, they own everything you create,” 6ix9ine said. He urged rising stars to educate themselves about contracts, publishing rights, and royalties before signing any deal.

The rapper concluded by encouraging artists to prioritize independence and transparency, saying that true success comes from creative control and financial awareness rather than fast money.
