The peace meeting, held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, took place in Wurma town, Kurfi Local Government Area. It brought together community leaders, local government representatives, and delegates from the forest-based Fulani communities to discuss ways of ending violence and improving relations among residents.

According to reports, the Chairman of Batagarawa Local Government, Hon. Yahaya Lawal Kawo, attended the meeting alongside representatives from Charanci Local Government, traditional rulers, and Fulani leaders. Discussions centered on rebuilding trust, addressing grievances, and ensuring the safety of farmers, herders, and local residents.

The meeting reportedly ended on a positive note, as Fulani representatives pledged their commitment to peace and assured that their members would cooperate with authorities to prevent further conflict. They also promised to respect existing agreements and maintain harmony with neighboring communities.

Community leaders in attendance described the initiative as a significant step toward restoring lasting peace and security in Katsina State. They commended both the local governments and the Fulani groups for choosing dialogue over violence, expressing optimism that the process would reduce attacks and promote social cohesion across the affected areas.

Observers noted that Katsina has recently intensified peace talks across several local councils as part of wider state efforts to tackle banditry, communal clashes, and insecurity through reconciliation and local engagement.
