Wike Gives Abuja Property Owners 14 Days to Pay N5m Fine for Land-Use Violation
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has given property owners in Abuja 14 days to regularize their buildings.
Defaulters risk sanctions if they fail to pay the N5 million fine.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has given property owners in Asokoro, Maitama, Garki, and Wuse a final 14-day deadline to regularise the use of their buildings or face sanctions.

In a statement released through his media aide, Wike directed all affected owners who converted their properties without official approval to pay a N5 million fine between November 11 and November 25, 2025. The payment is part of the required steps to correct land-use violations.
The minister warned that anyone who fails to comply within the given period will face strict enforcement from the FCT Administration.
Earlier in the year, the administration published a list of 374 property owners who violated land-use regulations. Wike had also approved the N5 million penalty for such offences.
According to the statement, property owners who complete the process within the grace period will receive updated title documents showing the new approved use of their land. However, this does not apply to properties whose titles have already been revoked due to non-development or failure to pay ground rent.
