Speaking at his residence shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him winner, Soludo described the victory as a “historic moment” for Anambra, noting that it marked a new chapter in the state’s democratic journey.

“This is a moment to say congratulations to ndị Anambra. You have spoken loudly,” he said. “Four years ago, you gave us your mandate. This time, you made history with a higher turnout and overwhelming support.”

Soludo highlighted that he and his deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, secured 73 percent of the total votes, winning all 21 local government areas and 98 percent of the state’s 326 wards. He described the victory as a strong message of confidence from the electorate and pledged to work even harder in his second term.

“We applied for this job and you re-employed us. You haven’t seen anything yet,” he added, promising to accelerate his administration’s developmental efforts from March 2026.

The governor commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for ensuring a free and fair election and praised the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan, for what he described as the “most credible election ever conducted in Anambra.” He also lauded the ICT department of INEC for promptly uploading 99 percent of polling unit results on the IREV portal before midnight.

Soludo thanked security agencies, including the police, army, navy, DSS, civil defence, and local vigilante groups, for ensuring peace during the exercise. However, he expressed sadness over the killing of an APGA supporter in Owerre-Ezukala, calling it a tragic loss.

He extended an olive branch to his opponents, urging unity and cooperation for the progress of the state. “Anambra is one family. Let us work together for the good of our people,” he said.

Soludo concluded by reaffirming his commitment to good governance, adding, “Now that ndị Anambra have spoken, it’s time to get back to work. Anambra must continue to win.”
