Two co wives in the Unguwar Tudun Yola area of Gwale Local Government, Kano State, have been k!lled in a violent late night attack carried out by unknown assailants.
The victims, both married to businessman Alhaji Ashiru Shuaibu, were attacked in their home on Monday night. The shocking incident has thrown the community into mourning.
Speaking with Freedom Radio Nigeria on Friday, Alhaji Shuaibu said the attackers broke into his house while everyone was asleep. He explained that the intruders took the lives of his two wives and then set one of the bodies on fire.
He said he has no idea why anyone would commit such a cruel act and called for justice.
The Kano State Police Command confirmed the incident through its spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa. He said investigators have already begun work to uncover those responsible and understand the motive behind the attack.
The police urged residents to remain calm and assist with useful information that could help the investigation.
