Wike, Saraki, Shettima Attend Fayose’s 65th Birthday Celebration in Lagos
Top political figures gathered in Lagos to celebrate Ayo Fayose’s 65th birthday on Saturday evening.
The event drew attention as it coincided with rising tensions within the Peoples Democratic Party.
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, former Senate President Bukola Saraki and Vice President Kashim Shettima were among the prominent guests who joined former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose to celebrate his 65th birthday in Lagos on Saturday.

The event drew family members, political associates and friends who gathered to honor Fayose on his milestone. Photos and short clips shared from the venue showed a relaxed atmosphere as guests exchanged greetings and held brief conversations.
Saraki, in a message posted on his Facebook page, said it was a pleasure to join Fayose and other dignitaries to mark the occasion. He noted that the gathering was an opportunity to celebrate a long-standing political figure alongside those who have worked closely with him over the years.

The birthday celebration took place on the same day the Peoples Democratic Party held its National Elective Convention in Ibadan. The timing drew attention because both events involved key figures in the party.
In the last few days, the PDP has faced fresh tension as members disagreed over the convention. Wike’s group tried to stop the event through the court, while the Umar Damagum group insisted it must continue. The party later said it had expelled Wike, Fayose and some other top members for alleged anti-party activities.
Despite the political issues, Fayose’s birthday still attracted a notable turnout, reflecting his influence and long-standing relationships across political divides.
