Singer D’banj has opened up about the end of Mo’Hits Records, saying the decision for the group to split was made entirely by his former partner, producer and music executive Don Jazzy.

Mo’Hits dissolved in 2012 after Don Jazzy publicly confirmed that he and D’banj could no longer continue working together due to differences.

Speaking on a recent episode of the Mic On podcast with Seun Okinbaloye, D’banj said Don Jazzy was “100 per cent” behind the decision to end the partnership.

He explained: “If I could go back in time, I wouldn’t change anything about my relationship with Don Jazzy, especially because the idea to go our separate ways didn’t come from me. It came from Don Jazzy 100 per cent. That’s why there is no issue between us.”

D’banj revealed that Don Jazzy handed him full rights to his catalogue, along with several unreleased tracks. He added that even though they had different views at the time, he felt they needed to push for a global breakthrough, which eventually came with “Oliver Twist,” their last joint release.

The singer said he has no regrets about the split, describing it as something that was meant to happen. However, he admitted that he still misses creating music with Don Jazzy.
