Tinubu Orders Immediate Rescue of 25 Abducted Kebbi Schoolgirls
Armed men attacked a Kebbi school, leaving officials dead and several girls abducted.
President Tinubu has ordered security agencies to rescue the students and track those responsible.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed security and intelligence agencies to begin an immediate operation to rescue the 25 female students abducted from Government Girls Secondary School in Maga, Danko Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

Armed men invaded the school in the early hours of Monday, shooting and k!lling the Vice Principal, Hassan Makuku. A security guard, Ali Shehu, was also injured after sustaining gunshot wounds to his right hand during the attack.
The spokesperson of the Kebbi State Police Command, Nafi’u Kotarkoshi, confirmed the incident and said a wide manhunt for the attackers was already in progress.
In a statement issued by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, the President condemned the attack and restated the government’s responsibility to protect citizens, especially students.
According to Idris, the President said safeguarding Nigerians remains a core duty of the State. He described the attack on schoolchildren and the k!lling of school officials as unacceptable and deeply troubling. Idris added that President Tinubu has given direct instructions to security agencies to locate the abducted students and ensure their safe return, stressing that those behind the attack must be arrested and prosecuted.
The minister also noted that Nigeria is intensifying its security collaboration through ECOWAS, the African Union and the Multinational Joint Task Force to improve border security and dismantle terrorist and criminal networks operating within the region.
Idris called on Nigerians to remain calm and assured that security forces are working continuously to resolve the situation and bring the girls back safely.
