Actor Taye Arimoro Demands ₦100m and Public Apology From Peggy Ovire Over Alleged Assault on Movie Set
Taye Arimoro has accused actress Peggy Ovire of violating his rights during a confrontation on a movie set.
He demands a public apology and ₦100 million, alleging assault, threats and damage to his property.
Nollywood actor Taye Arimoro has filed a formal legal complaint against actress and producer Peggy Ovire, accusing her and members of her production team of violating his rights during an incident that reportedly occurred on a movie set earlier this month. In the petition, he is demanding a public apology and ₦100 million compensation.

The allegations were detailed in a letter dated November 18, 2025, issued by Inibehe Effiong Chambers on behalf of Arimoro. According to the letter, Arimoro’s contract for the production ended at exactly 11:59 p.m. on November 11. He claimed that when he attempted to leave the set after his contract expired, he was prevented from doing so.
The letter stated that the actor’s car was blocked by the production manager, while another vehicle allegedly obstructed the exit route. Arimoro said he started an Instagram Live video because he feared for his safety after receiving threats.
The situation reportedly intensified at the estate gate, where Arimoro alleged that Peggy Ovire and several others confronted him. According to his account, his tyres were deflated and he was surrounded by multiple people who, he said, acted aggressively toward him.
Arimoro claimed he was assaulted in the process, listing injuries such as a fractured mandible, bite marks, bruises and swelling. He further alleged that his phone was tampered with during the confrontation.
His lawyers argued that the incident amounted to a breach of his rights, including personal liberty, freedom of movement and human dignity. They also stated that the actor suffered emotional trauma and financial losses following the incident.
The demands sent to Peggy Ovire include a public video apology posted on all her social media platforms and the payment of ₦100 million in damages. She was given seven days to respond to the petition.
As of the time of filing this report, Peggy Ovire has not issued any public statement regarding the allegations.
