Popular Nigerian media personality, Daddy Freeze, has officially joined The Honest Bunch podcast as its new host, replacing the embattled OAP and comedian, Nedu Wazobia. The announcement was made public on Sunday night via the podcast’s official Instagram page, marking a significant shift for the popular online talk show.
The post introducing Daddy Freeze read:
“The Honest Bunch podcast just got more unfiltered. Get ready for hotter takes, deeper convos, and unapologetic honesty. Say hello to our latest addition, @daddyfreeze.”
Daddy Freeze also confirmed the news by sharing the announcement on his own Instagram page, writing, “A New Era Has Begun,” signaling his readiness to usher in a new chapter for the podcast.
This change comes four months after Nedu Wazobia resigned from his position on the show amid a storm of controversy. He had been accused of leveraging the podcast to solicit intimate favors from aspiring female entertainers in exchange for on-air appearances a scandal that drew widespread criticism and called his credibility into question.
The controversy escalated after an episode featuring Big Brother Naija star, DeeOne, during which DeeOne alleged that social commentator VeryDarkMan was gay. In response, VeryDarkMan hit back with serious allegations of his own, accusing Nedu of using The Honest Bunch as a platform to exploit women. He also threatened to expose a list of individuals Nedu had allegedly boasted about being involved with within the industry.
Despite the mounting backlash, Nedu later broke his silence during a press conference, stating that he had no regrets about featuring DeeOne on the show.
With Daddy Freeze now at the helm, The Honest Bunch podcast appears poised for a revamp.
