President Tinubu is in Benue to visit victims of a recent deadly attack in Yelewata.

He also plans to meet affected families and leaders seeking lasting peace in the region.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently in Benue State, where he is visiting victims of last Friday’s deadly attack in Yelewata, a community in Guma Local Government Area.

The tragic incident, which claimed the lives of over 59 people and left many others injured, has sparked widespread concern. Upon his arrival at the Tactical Air Command of the Nigerian Air Force Base in Makurdi around 12:58 p.m., the President heads straight to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital to see some of the injured survivors who are receiving treatment.

After the hospital visit, President Tinubu is expected to proceed to the new Banquet Hall at the Benue State Government House. There, he will meet with stakeholders, including relatives of the victims, displaced persons, and local leaders from affected communities.

This visit is part of a broader move by the Federal Government to address the rising wave of violence in rural areas of the state. Discussions at the meeting are aimed at finding lasting solutions to the security challenges troubling Benue and its neighboring regions.

Key figures expected at the gathering include Governor Hyacinth Alia, governors from other North-Central states, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume. Service chiefs, lawmakers, APC leaders, and community representatives are also in attendance.
