Massive Rally in Anambra North Backs Governor Soludo’s Vision

Thousands gathered in Aguleri to honour Governor Soludo at a rally themed around development and unity.

Anambra North leaders praised his progress, endorsing him with the title “Oluatuegwu” for his service.

Thousands of enthusiastic supporters gathered at the Otuocha Township Stadium in Aguleri for a grand rally in honor of Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo. The event, organized by the Anambra North Stakeholders Forum, brought together key political figures, traditional rulers, youth groups, and community members in a vibrant show of unity and endorsement.

Themed “Sustaining The Solution Legacy: A Path to Disruptive Development in Anambra State,” the rally served both as a political statement and a celebration of progress under the Soludo-led administration.

Supporters waved banners and cheered as the governor arrived to a rousing welcome from over 5,000 attendees. In his remarks, Governor Soludo expressed deep appreciation for the strong backing from the region.

“Today is a powerful demonstration of our collective resolve to move our state forward,” he said, calling for sustained collaboration between the people and his government.

He noted that despite not having set up a campaign council yet, Anambra North had taken the initiative to launch what seemed like a re-election movement. “I hear that the politicians are already moving around. When the time comes, we will also campaign as if we are the underdog to an unknown opponent, because we will never take the support of ndị Anambra in vain,” the governor stated.

Soludo also recounted the roots of his connection with the region. “On 17th October, 2020, you invited me and endorsed me to become the Governor of Anambra State. Also, immediately I was sworn in, I started work in Anambra North,” he said.

He further remarked on the symbolic endorsement of his nickname “Oluatuegwu” a moniker given by a local woman during a road inspection now formally recognized as a traditional title by local monarchs.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s focus on developmental programs, adding, “We will continue our programs in youth development, regenerative agriculture, health, education and others. Anambra is one state, one people, one party. Anambra is APGA land.”

The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, delivered a communiqué on behalf of the stakeholders. He praised the governor for initiating impactful projects in Anambra North and passed a vote of confidence in his leadership.

Top officials from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), including National Chairman Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa and State Chairman Barr. Ifeatu Obiokoye, reiterated their support. Other dignitaries present included Barr. Beverly Ikpeazu-Nkemdiche (Commissioner for Special Duties), Lady Maureen Gwacham (House of Representatives Member for Oyi and Ayamelum), Mr. Primus Odili, and Engr. Marcel Ifejiofor.

Engr. Ifejiofor emphasized Governor Soludo’s commitment to inclusive governance. “He understands the importance of involving the people and is creating avenues for everyone to thrive,” he said to loud applause.

One of the rally’s highlights was the formal presentation of the title “Oluatuegwu” to Governor Soludo by traditional rulers across Anambra North, in recognition of his hard work and dedication to public service.

As the event concluded, many attendees voiced their confidence in Soludo’s leadership. “For the first time in many years, we feel heard. Our communities see hope and are ready to work hand-in-hand with the government,” said a local businesswoman, echoing the general mood of optimism in the crowd.
