Veteran Nigerian singer Daddy Showkey has revealed that Fuji star Alabi Pasuma supported his family with food for three years while he was recovering from a serious accident.
The emotional disclosure was made during a live performance at a celebrity event where Pasuma joined him on stage. In a video that has since gone viral, Daddy Showkey recounted how a 2007 accident left him bedridden for three years, making it impossible to support his family. He shared that during that challenging time, Pasuma was the only friend who remained by his side.
“You see this man,” Showkey said while pointing to Pasuma. “He stood by me during bad times and good times. Many people didn’t see me in public or hear me sing because I had an accident in 2007. I was in the hospital for three years. Pasuma was the one taking care of my family. I can never forget him in my life.”
He went on to express disappointment at how others in the entertainment industry turned their backs on him. He said some colleagues even pretended not to be home when he visited them for help after recovering.
“After I recovered, I visited others but they didn’t give me the opportunity to see them, not to talk of helping,” he added. “When I got to their houses, they would tell me they weren’t around even when they were inside.”
