A tragic incident has rocked Venezuela as 25-year-old TikTok influencer Jesus Sarmiento was shot and killed during a livestream on June 22, 2025.

Sarmiento, who had over 87,000 followers on TikTok, was known for using his platform to speak out against alleged government corruption and powerful criminal organizations. In recent weeks, he had openly accused high-ranking officials, including Venezuela’s Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello, as well as members of notorious gangs such as Tren del Llano and Tren de Aragua.
Reports indicate that Sarmiento had received multiple threats prior to the attack, warning him to stop his public allegations. Tragically, those threats became reality when armed men stormed his home during a livestream. Viewers watched in horror as he was shot multiple times on camera.
His mother, who was also present during the attack, was shot in the abdomen but survived and is currently receiving medical treatment.
The Venezuelan government has strongly condemned the killing. Attorney General Tarek William Saab has appointed Fiscalía 69 Nacional to lead the investigation, vowing to ensure justice for the late influencer and his family.
