The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of 1 45-year-old Emmanuel Aloko for impersonating the police for 2 years.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in a tweet on Thursday, including that the perpetrator would instantly be arraigned.
He wrote, “45-year previous Emmanuel Aloko has been impersonating as a police officer for 2 years. He was arrested right now by vigilant officers of the Alausa Division. He will likely be arraigned instantly.”
Hundeyin, in his tweet, added a screenshot of Part 109 of the Felony Code which the perpetrator had damaged.
The Part reads, “Any one who, not being an individual serving within the armed forces of Nigeria nor a member of the police forces and with intent that he could also be taken to be such an individual or member as aforesaid (a) wears any a part of the uniform of; or
“(b) wears any garb resembling any a part of the uniform of, an individual serving within the armed forces of Nigeria, or a member of the police forces, is responsible of a misdemeanour and is liable to imprisonment for one yr.”
