Former Miss Nigeria, Ezinne Akudo, has put an end to persistent rumors suggesting she was once married to Nigerian footballer Emmanuel Emenike.
In a recent interview, the 2013 beauty queen clarified that she has never been married and has no personal relationship with the footballer.
“I’ve actually never addressed that,” she said. “But I’ve never been married.”
Surprised by the interviewer’s reaction, she added:
“No, you’re joking. That’s why I said this answer will shock you. The person in question, I have never met in my life. I’ve seen him because I attended his wedding — his wife was someone I knew.”
The long-standing rumor, which falsely alleged that Emenike divorced a former Miss Nigeria before remarrying, has resurfaced periodically over the years. Ezinne firmly debunked the claim, stating that she has never been involved in such a story.
“It’s gone on for like years now… The first time the story came out, I thought it was a joke. But then it kept popping up. Every few years.”
She explained that she initially dismissed the speculation, thinking it would fade away on its own.
“I never knew that the story would stick the way it did. If you Google it, it’s there — like some confirmed truth. But I’ve never been married, never been divorced, and I’ve never met the person in question.”
Ezinne concluded with a candid remark reflecting on her experience: “I fear who no fear media.”
