Nollywood star Osas Ighodaro has opened up about her emotional journey with grief, nearly four years after losing her mother, revealing that the pain still hits without warning.

Speaking on VJ Adams’ Off the Top, Osas shared how she copes daily by embracing her emotions and living purposefully in her mother’s memory.

Nollywood actress Osas Ighodaro has opened up about her ongoing journey through grief, nearly four years after the passing of her mother.

Speaking during an appearance on VJ Adams’ show Off The Top, Osas revealed that while time has passed, the pain of her mother’s loss still lingers and often resurfaces unexpectedly.

She admitted that grief remains a daily reality, but she has learned to cope by embracing her emotions instead of bottling them up. “I allow myself to feel what I’m feeling, then I move forward,” she shared.

Osas explained that one of the key sources of her strength is the belief that her current struggles are only temporary. She holds on to the hope that one day, in the afterlife, she will be reunited with her mother and have countless meaningful stories to share.

“I haven’t cried in a while; it’s been almost four years since my mum passed away, and the pain never really goes away,” she said. “Sometimes, the emotions just come unexpectedly and take over. That part can be overwhelming. But I’ve learned to let the feelings flow, then brush them off and keep going.”

She offered heartfelt advice for anyone dealing with the loss of a loved one, especially a parent. “This situation is temporary. Live your life the best way you can, so when your time comes to transition, you’ll have plenty to tell your loved ones on the other side.”

Osas concluded by saying she is focused on living a purposeful life, filled with meaningful experiences she can one day share with her late mother. “I’m trying to live my life so that when I meet my mum long from now, I’ll have a lot to gist about.”
